🌑Descendants of Darkness🌑 A Dark Immersive Roleplay System In Second Life
The History: The Descendants of Darkness emerged on November 6th, 2023.
Beneath the veil of eternal night lies a realm unlike any other, a grid-wide crucible of combat and live-action roleplay, forged within the shadowed depths of Second Life. This world was not crafted for the faint of heart. It was summoned, to ensnare those who crave power, immortality, and the intoxicating taste of darkness itself.
Here, you shall abandon your mortal shell and embrace the void. Carve your destiny from the bones of your enemies and rise as a legend within the abyss. Will you become a feral lycan, driven by bloodlust and the savage strength of the moon’s curse? Or perhaps a vampire of exquisite malice, a cunning predator who drinks deep of crimson life and eternal sin? Or maybe you are the witch, a master of the arcane who bends light and shadow to your will binding souls in spells of torment and desire.
Your path is yours alone. Your survival depends on wit, power, and the will to dominate. Ascend through the ranks and etch your name in whispers of fear, or walk alone as an outlaw, carving your own legend in the darkness. Should you hunger for more, gather your kin and forge a dynasty, bound by blood and ambition. Raise your banner, form your clan, and engrave your legacy into the ancient scrolls of shadow.
Together, you and your brethren shall build an empire of the night, where only the ruthless endure and the powerful reign supreme.
The Darkness thrives on conflict, chaos, and seduction, the lifeblood of immersive, untamed roleplay. Here, there are no shackles, no politics, no chains of law to bind your imagination. In this world, you are the creator and destroyer, free to shape your domain as you see fit. Forge alliances under the pale moonlight… or shatter them with a whisper. Turn friends into foes, and foes into instruments of your will.
In the Darkness, everything is possible.
Only your imagination defines the limits
and even that can be broken.
Guidelines and Etiquette
In the Realm of Darkness, we call our rules 'The Dark Oath.' You can find the board with the actual rules at the Realm of Darkness land. Here, I will explain the rules in simple terms.
- Do not break the masquerade: This means you should not disclose information about other players within our system to those who are not players. For instance, you can't approach a club owner and say, 'x person is a vampire/lycan/witch.' You are free to inform anyone you wish that you're a player but avoid violating someone's privacy regarding their player status. Additionally, refrain from sharing players' scans or attacks with non-players. Exercise caution when posting such information in nearby chat, as non-players might be observing and could potentially report you.
- Silence in the face of adversity: This means that if you get attacked, do not complain to the creators about it. Attacking is part of the game. This is what you signed up for. You can complain to others but do not complain to the creators.
- Safe zones: This means that engaging in attacks within the Realm of Darkness land is not permissible. While playful interactions with friends are allowed, any non-consensual attacks are strictly prohibited. Serious complaints or reports regarding such incidents may lead to undesired consequences.
- Guardians of the Realm: This means that we protect our game. Please don't engage in activities that attempt to damage or harm our game. For example, if you have a bull avatar and attempt to disclose information about our game to another gaming system within SL to gain favor, and the creator of this other game causes problems by threatening our player base, such actions will result in a permanent ban.
At the Realm of Darkness land, we also have a notice. This notice contains things that you should be aware of before you join. The notices are not rules. The notice is as follows.
1. Home and work security: Players may attack you at your home or workplace. This is part of the game; you are not safe. This is one thing that brings excitement and adrenaline to the game. Some advice from us is to use a security orb for your land so people can't come and attack you. If you work as a DJ or Host, make sure you have eject/ban ability at the place of work.
2. Griefer HUDs: If someone is griefing you, report it to Linden Labs.
3. Conduct: If someone is saying bad things to you or doing bad things to you, report it to Linden Labs. These types of things are not within our jurisdiction.
Initiation and Gameplay Dynamics
When you join as a player, you'll receive a group invite, and upon acceptance, you can acquire the HUD. The HUD's artwork is tailored to your chosen species. The individual who introduced you to the game may invite you to join their house (vampires), pack (lycans), or circle (witches). Upon becoming a player, your blood level is not initially full. One of the initial tasks involves going out to feed. Ideally, your mentor will guide you through this process and demonstrate how the HUD functions.
While various species boast different attacks, it's important to note that the attack damage and rate remain consistent across all species within the same age group. The distinctions in attacks are solely for roleplay purposes, not for gaining advantages in combat scenarios.
I will use the word "house" interchangeably with "circle" and "pack." If you have joined a house, there might be some house rules created by the house leader. If the house is within a clan, there might be clan rules, and if you're in a bloodline, there might be bloodline rules. You might be wondering what the difference is between a house, clan, and bloodline.
Houses, Clans, and Bloodlines
When you first become a player, you're initially part of a generic bloodline, granting you the freedom to avoid automatic placement into the bloodline of the person who introduced you to the game. If you choose to join their house, you will adopt their bloodline. Each bloodline is led by one person with two lower-ranking officers. Within a bloodline, there are clans, and within clans there are houses. Currently, holding a bloodline is the highest rank in the game.
- Bloodline
A bloodline consists of one leader and two lower-ranking officers. This structure represents the pinnacle of hierarchical positions in the game. Clans are subgroups within a bloodline.
- Clans
Clans are composed of houses (vampires), packs (lycans), or circles (witches). A clan, led by a leader and two lower-ranking officers, can be thought of as a state. To establish a clan, approximately 25 active members within your house are required (not including alts or inactive accounts), along with payment of the fee. The creation of a clan necessitates the inclusion of two or more houses. A clan can pledge loyalty to an arch and can encompass houses, packs, and circles.
- Houses/packs/covens
To exist, a house, pack, or coven must be created by an individual with ten followers or more, who also pays the respective fee. The distinction lies in the composition: a house exclusively contains vampires, packs exclusively consist of lycans and covens exclusively include witches.
